Eivrune
Eivrune is the central continent of Andrawyn, and by far the oldest. During the days of creation, the deity Nys created the landmass that is known as Eivrune. When the other deities created the different people of the world, they placed them on Eivrune, so they may thrive and inhabit the world.
Geography
Eivrune stretches from the polar region in the north down to the equatorial region in the south. The continent features three major regions: the North, the South and the Heartlands. These major regions divide further into smaller regions that contain the kingdoms and nations of the continent.
Mountains
Two major mountain ranges stretch from north to south and join near the subtropical zone. The Dragontooth Mountains follow the lines of the eastern coast of Eivrune, while the Bloodfang Mountains follow the western coast. The mountainous part in the south, where both ranges join, are known as Dragonblood Mountains.
Forests
Especially the northern and central parts of Eivrune feature extensive forests. Evergreen forests on the frozen ground in the north, temperate rainforests, and the famous Silver Oaks in the heart of Eivrune. The further you come south, the more scarce the vegetation becomes.
Eivrune features a very diverse flora that remains untouched in large parts of the continent.
Climate
The continent of Eivrune features nearly every climate zone available on Andrawyn. From a cold and dry, nearly arctic climate in the northern reaches, to hot and dry savannah in the south-eastern parts of Eivrune and hot, wet swamps in the south-western reaches.
The existence of the Wastelands has some influence on flora and fauna of the region, but this phenomenon is locally.
The cold-water stream that follows the western side of the continent makes the west slightly colder, while the warm stream along the eastern side of the continent leads to mild, slightly warmer temperatures and higher rain. Especially with the Dragontooth Mountains as a natural barrier, the east coast of Eivrune is the most populated and vivid region of the continent.
The Bloodfang Mountains in the west will also block rain from the western oceans and leave the central part dry and way more continental.
