This small, perfectly round sphere of black marble has a small peridot gemstone socketed into it that causes the sphere to resemble an eye. The eye is believed to have originated from the last corpse of Zarthilx, a powerful lich who had briefly embodied an Ocuul—a species of thirteen-eyed abominations believed to have been rendered extinct by the Reckoning.
Symbiotic Curse: When you touch this item while no creature is symbiosing with it, you must succeed on a Trial 5 Cognition or Wile Resist Check or immediately begin symbiosing with it. On a success, you do not have to repeat this check for 24 Hours. When a creature begins symbiosing with this item, they must replace one of their eyes with this artifact.
Effect: A creature symbiosing with this eye may use it as though it were their own eye. Ending the symbiosis requires first removing the eye from your socket.
Effect: Charming Ray. While symbiosing with this eye, spend 3 AP and 1 MP, choose a creature you see within 30 Paces, and make a +1 Cognition or Wile Check against the target’s Wile Resist Check. On a success, the target is Charmed by you for 1 Minute. The creature may make a Trial 3 Wile Resist Check each time they mark a Hit Point, ending the Charmed State on itself on a success. You control how a creature Charmed in this way spends its AP, EP, and MP. If you cause it to perform an action that would harm itself, you must spend 1 MP to do so.
