Bloodletter’s Token
Uncommon Magical Utility, 190n, Weight 0
This coin features an embossed skull with a red garnet inserted into each of its three eye sockets. It appears to be an ordinary (yet macabre) coin, at first, but it was crafted by cultists in service to a mysterious entity long ago. It harbors a mysterious, dangerous power within it that can only be accessed by those with certain capabilities.
Effect: After you pay a Blood Toll that reduces you to 1 or fewer Hit Points while this token is on your person, its effect immediately activates. Make a Wile Check. For each success, clear 1 Hit Point marked by the the Blood Toll you just paid.
Once this token has reduced a Blood Toll by 1 or more 3 times, the magic fades from it and it can no longer be used in this way.
Hogtie Hempen
Uncommon Magical Utility, 215n, Weight 1
To the untrained eye, this 3-meter length of rope appears to be just that: ordinary rope. However, when thrown, the hempen rope automatically hogties the target of the throw, tightly wrapping and knotting itself. Only by speaking the arcane phrase can the rope’s knots be undone. This actually makes this enchanted rope a terrible choice for climbing, as the dragonslayer Gertrude Switchback once learned centuries ago.
Effect: Knots formed by this rope can only be undone by speaking a specific phrase, which can be no more than 4 words. The phrase may be changed at any time while holding the rope, provided there are no knots in the rope when the new phrase is spoken. The command phrase for the rope can be no more than 4 words.
Checks to tie a knot with this rope always succeed.
This rope can only be cut or broken by magical means.
Primordial Shard
Common Magical Utility, 100n, Weight 0
This small shard of primordial chaos can be used to channel magic by Mages and Sorcerers. Additionally, its association with the primordial chaos grants its wielder the power to channel magic they may not otherwise know.
Resonance: (1, Must follow the Mage Tradition)
Effect: During a Respite, you may choose any non-Rite spell with the Arcane tag to infuse into this shard, even if you do not know it. While holding and resonating with this shard, you may cast the spell you chose as though you knew it, paying its AP and MP costs as normal. A spell cast in this way cannot be empowered.
Once a spell is cast in this way, it is removed from the shard and the shard cannot be used to cast a spell until a new spell is infused into it.
Tasseomancer’s Carafe
Uncommon Magical Utility, 375n, Weight 0
A magical carafe capable of holding quite a bit of liquid despite its small size thanks to a magical enchantment that both expands and warms the interior of the container without altering its exterior.
Effect: After brewing a tea from the Tasseomancy Spell Skill Tree, you may store that tea in this carafe, which can hold up to 6 cups of the same tea at a time. While a tea is in this carafe, the tea does not lose its potency.
