Sundorwick Forests

These are the forests that border Taungoun and Northeast Hangra; the home of Anselma and The Sundorwick Tribe. These people eventually created an alliance with the Mundbyrdians, and their forest village officially became part of Wynsumheord.

Geography

This vast forest is full of all manner of trees and plants. There is also lots of fresh water due to the many little ponds dotted throughout it, and the Togyn River that separates it from the Nurvenheath territory.

Fauna & Flora

The Sundorwick Forest is a curious place full of all types of plants and animals. The species are varied immensely. Typical forest animals such as deer, rabbits, and birds are abundant, and billions of flowers and bushes grow rampantly. There are also a plethora of fruits, berries, nuts, vegetables, roots, and fungi. Many of the botanicals have special abilities. Some, such as the Spilde Lilly, possess healing properties, while others, like the Slumaberries, will cause drowsiness. When super-condensed, the Slumaberry sap acts as a tranquilizer. Because of this, the Sundorwick Soldiers often tip their arrows and darts with it before going into battle.

Natural Resources

The entire forest is full of natural resources that the Sundorwick Tribe holds dear. They do not use the wood from trees unless they are fallen, but they do harvest vegetables, fruits, nuts, and other plants that can be used to make threads and fabric. There are also many small bodies of water scattered throughout. In addition, the animals are plenteous and can be used for meat, fur, milk, eggs, and labor. The Sundorwick Forest People never allow themselves to overuse any of their resources.

History

Most of the Sundorwick Forest People migrated from Nurvenheath. At first, they were essentially one with the Firginholt Woodsmen, but after many disagreements on whether or not to accept the modern practices and technological advancements of Wynsumheord, they split the forest in two; the Sundorwick Tribe remaining in the easternmost part, and the Firginholt Tribe migrating to the west.

Tourism

People hardly ever visit the forest merely for the sake of it, but weary travelers usually happen upon it by accident. Some curious folk may trek to the mysterious location due to the wonder and thrill of lore suggesting it is home to fairies and sprites, while others who have learned of its mystical plantlife may come to collect special botanicals to create potions, oils, medicines, or other recipes for themselves (or to sell in the market). Some people long ago tried to utilize Sundorwick for lumber, but the forest's soldiers taught them better than that.
