Ka-rik-shar is the Jennar homeworld, a water-rich planet at the center of Glorious Empire space.

Characteristics

With an atmospheric pressure and gravity slightly higher than that of humanity's Old Terra, Ka-rik-shar is a world rich in oceans—over 90% of its surface area is a single huge sea, with only scattered islands and small continents. Only one landmass was suitable for industrialization, and civilization on Ka-rik-shar has been known before and since for its strong nautical traditions, elements of which still influence Imperial military practices.

It orbits close pair of binary suns, eclipses of which were used as timekeeping methods by early Jennar cultures, and has no natural moons, though numerous asteroids large and small have been moved into orbit to provide docks for ships and construction materials for space habitats

Culture

As the Imperial capital, the highest echelons of its society can be found here, often spending substantial time at residences in and near Waterfall City, whose real-estate values are among some of the highest in the Starweb. Any Family worth its salt, seeking influence and trying to break into the Imperial Circle, is sure to have a presence here.
