Now, when you think of a Shade, you probably imagine some kind of harrowing black ghost, yes? Well, in the scorching desert of Anvil, you'd be dead wrong.
A desert shade, also known as Shade of the Desert, are trickster beasts that roam the rolling sand dunes of hot deserts and savannahs in Melior. These spectral assassins work in packs and are masters of shapeshifting disguise.
One shade will assume the form of a palm tree trunk, and lift up another shade, who will in turn morph into the shape of large palm leaves. All of the other shades assume various minor forms, but will usually lay partially buried across the sandy ground. Together they form the perfect illusion of welcoming shade to rest in. Here they will wait for an unsuspecting victim to drop their guard and come forward.
Desert shades work in packs of five or more.
