You leave the room and enter the hall.
“Going somewhere?” asks a burly man in a dirty fur vest. He blocks your path. His face is scared…so you know someone didn’t give in to his overbearing charm.
“Yeah,” you answer, “a bit hungry, so if you’ll excuse me?”
“No,” he says…slowly smiling, “I won’t.”
You notice two other men, further down the stairs. They grin up at you—blocking your escape route. even if you could get past this thug. One is trying to conceal a knife in his hand, the other taps a small wooden club against the wall as he climbs the steps.
You have to sigh for idiots like this.
“I thought you’d say that,” you reply.
