Silence falls in the tent.
Deron scowls at such a comment…such a bold accusation. He turns to Dorbane, ignoring you.
“Is this true?” he asks in low tones.
You watch the silent exchange between the two dwarves. Dorbane does not look at you, but you know, from experience, that he’s going to have words with you later for putting him in a pickle like this.
Dorbane sighs, “It is.”
The smell of bourbon pipe tobacco drifts through the air, the creaking of leather belts and boots whispering as Deron sways in place.
“…and you believe this to be true?”
Again Dorbane confirms, “I do.”
The old dwarf Captain returns to the carved wooden chair behind his desk and sinks down onto the cushions. He gives you a foreboding look.
“Tell me more.”
You step forward.
