Untie the hostages #49

I can’t let them kill innocent people, you convince yourself.
Your friends are nowhere to be seen and you can’t wait any longer—Gunther will surely kill those people at any moment.
Taking a deep breath, you sneak around the rim of the camp and climb up the embankment, keeping to the trees. There are four bodies, all with sacs over their heads.
Three men and…a woman??
Those bastards! They’re laying up against the embankment, hands tied behind backs. You look over at the fire. Gunther is still there.
Probably complaining about being stuck with a murder’s lot. You slip through the shrubs on your belly and weave like a snake down through the tree line, towards the hostages. Taking hold of a small sapling, you slowly lower yourself down the embankment, trying not to grunt with the strain. You get within arms reach of the bodies.
Just as you look back to pull a small knife from your boot, you hear a sound.
“Ahem.”
You look up to see Gunther, standing in front of you—his evil grin makes the deep scar across his right cheek look like an extra fold of skin.
Oh crap. Startled, you lose your grip and tumble down the embankment. You stop rolling at Gunther’s feet.
“It looks like I have five bodies to deal with now,” he growls.
