“Let’s see if he talks with broken ribs, then.” You nod to the dwarf, “Lift his arms.”
The boy squirms and screams, “No! Please!! Ask me anything you want, I’ll tell! I’ll TELL!”
Dorbane scoffs, “You’re not much of a soldier, squealing like a woman! Where’s your pride? Your honor!?”
Face pale as a ghost, tears running down his face, the boy whimpers, “But that’s what I’m TELLING you…I’m NOT A SOLDIER!”
You have to admit—he looks completely pathetic. Even Valda is doing all she can not to laugh.
You sigh. “Fine, I won’t break your ribs. Unless…”
Lowering the stick, you then point at his face—“You better tell me what I want to know!”
He gulps.
“Or we’ll do THIS!” bellows Dorbane—and grabs the youth's hand. Before you can react, he breaks the boy's index finger at the knuckle.

From all the howling and screaming…you’re pretty confident the predators of the forest will stay far away tonight.
