Viscount Kadmaer Montchild

Second son of Duke Montchild, and the effective leader of the Montchild Faction in the valley, Viscount Kadmaer is the perfect representative of his father. He treats the valley exploration effort with contempt, as he and his believe the refugees aren't worth aiding. Yet aiding they do, as they only disagree with the royal family. Their intent is not treason, but simply protecting their own interests.   It is unclear why the Viscount came to the valley, as normally one like him would treat this as an undesired chore. Needless to say, there is a lot of gossip about his presence. While some suggest he may have earned his father's ire, others believe he may be using this opportunity to prove his skills and perhaps search a chance to earn glory should the chance arrive.   Under his lead, the Montchild faction limited their aid, focusing on safeguarding the merchants and settlements. They leave the scouting and hunting to other groups. He lead the opposition against the Call to Arms, as he believes combat should be left to soldiers and knights.

Skills

Physical
Viscount Kadmaer is properly trained with weapons from his family's heritage. His weapon of choice is a Dwarven War Axe, while he uses a tower shield and full plate to defend himself. He usually carries normal equipment around, but he also brought an ornamental set that is said to be a magical family heirloom.   The Viscount may lack survival training, but he has never needed it. He fights properly when dealing with wild animals, even without his ornamental equipment. It is suspected he carries a significant amount of special items with him, to further guarantee his safety.
Mental
A sloppy tongue might call the Viscount malicious. Yet to be malicious, one must be out to hurt others. He is not, he simply cares only about his own side. Anyone else is a burden that needs to take care of themselves. Then again, not in combat, as he believes violence is the monopoly of nobility.   While the Viscount has little respect to those not of noble blood, he still acknowledges their prowess. He may not feel like meeting Scouts himself, but will still send one of his own knights to meet them in his stead. He also won't allow blatant disrespect by his underlings.
