Montchild Faction
Led by Duke Montchild, this group of nobles tends to disagree with the royal family. Located in the hills east of the now-flooded river, these nobles suffered little harm from the flood and the war. However, being cut off and facing a large amount of refugees, they instead chose to initially heavily support the valley as alternative.
Now that the valley is being settled, they are grumbling and slowly starting to cut off their aid. Yet at the same time their troops and several noble members are still present, so that no opportunity for fortune and fame will slip them by. The last thing they want is for the valley to turn against them and risk a pincer movement between the valley and the forces of the absent king.
Both neutral nobles and the monarchists do not trust their presence, yet at this point no plots have been uncovered. That doesn't prevent them from trying to hog glory while at the same time clearly expressing their contempt for anyone that isn't loyal to them. So far this hasn't led to fights yet, but their rising arrogance may very well lead to an explosion at some point.
