Magic fabric

It's soft like silk, different types of the fabric have different opacities, the patterns they have used are always in a dark or light color...interesting.

This fabric was discovered recently along with a new species, Vattenfolket and their settlement, Lillvattna.
It's a light water-resistant non-rubber fabric that glows in the dark. The clothes have stationary patterns but the colors shift depending on reasons that are yet unknown. Why this species of people who live at the bottom of the lakes wear fabric clothes is unknown. How they even manufacture this fabric is currently also unknown.

DISCOVERY

A pair of Mediators were searching for a body in Urborgasjön, a lake outside of Urskoga proper when they found the small settlement instead. The Vattenfolket wear this fabric on the lower parts of their bodies like flowing skirts.

UTILITY

Some supernatural scientists believe that the fabrics are used to show emotions down in the dark bottoms of the lakes. This is currently the most likely reason for the existence of the fabric. However, how it's manufactured or how they developed it is still unknown since they have not yet managed to communicate with the Vattenfolket.

AVAILABLITY

So far this fabric is only available in the settlement of Lillvattna. The scientists researching the fabric have traded a few rolls of fabric from the weavers there. A couple of non-scientists, living in the lake, have also managed to purchase a couple of rolls for their own shenanigans.

COMPLEXITY

The fabric is weaved with threads, possibly with some kind of a machine. How these threads are created or from what material these threads are created is unknown. It's magic. The scientists hope to soon be able to communicate with the Vattenfolket to be able to inspect the process of creating the fabric. But until then they are still examining the fabric, hoping for an early breakthrough.

Reading this, I had real Kill la Kill anime/manga vibes. I hope the origins get explained in what you are writing this article for. I am curious about what emotions this magic fabric can feel.

I am an anime fan so that's good. XD The stories I'm currently plotting do not have that much to do with the lake...but it is Mio's "home turf" so I will most likely write more about it in the future. :3
