The Mission

The Enduring Mission of the Church of the Creator has been to spread the Good News of the Savior's work and to welcome all people of the Mortal Lands into the faith. While all members of this body have faith have different purposes and functions, all are called to minister to those in need.

We the Church, are Called as one To

-Feed the Hungry
-Clothe the Naked
-Shelter the homeless
-Comfort the sick and dying
-Bury and Honor the Dead
-Seek the Lost

The Fatherhood

The Church is led by the [title], who leads the Church in an unbroken succession from Ishmael, Dark Monk and original [title] that the Savior chose to lead his church. the [Title] Maintains the perpetual unit of both the bishops and the company of the lay faithful. They are also the final authority on doctrine of the Church of the Creator, and the visible foundation of the Church.
The current [title] is Vigilius IX, given name [name here]. He has reigned as [title] for over twenty years, taking over from his successor Clement III just before the Night of Falling Crowns. Vigilius IX has been a strong proponent of expanding the congregation's ability to study scripture and the doctrine of the church without a theological degree and several years at a university. Sadly, the Night of Falling Crowns quickly put an end to the Ecumenical Council he was forming to address the issue.

Liturgical Teachings

There are two sides to the liturgical teachings of the Church; the Sacred Scripture, and Holy Tradition. These two in one form the Depositum Fideli, the deposit of faith that the Church builds her proclamation upon.

Sacred Scripture

Even the most stringent Atheist is familiar with this pillar of the faith: the Sacred Scripture. Formed from the Abaisi's own holy writings and combined with the testimonies of the apostles, the teachings of St. Bernard, and the letters of the Dark Monks, the Holy Bible is a mainstay in both Churches and Creatist homes all across the Mortal Lands. Although Reclaimists will claim that it is not the 'true' Bible, as it contains Abaisi writings that are not considered 'biblical' by Reclaimist reckoning.

Holy Tradition

What is less known to the layperson outside the church is the Holy Tradition-those teachings passed down by the Dark Monks and the disciples of the Creator through the Divine Spirit since the earliest days of the Church. Though not explicitly written in the Bible itself, these teachings are indispensable for any Creatist. These teachings include moral teachings, the New Testament, The Sacraments, and the treatment of Relics.

Influence

The Church of the Creator is one of, if not the most prominent Religion in the Mortal Lands. Formed from a small collection of disciples of the Creator numbering no more than a few hundred, the Church today boasts millions of members of the congregation, and churches and cathedrals across the map. Though its influence in secular and political matters has declined somewhat since the Relcaimation and the diminishment of the Holy City to its own borders from its own country, the teachings of the Church are near hard-coded into the law and governance of any kingdom it has touched, especially regarding matters of the dignity of the human body and the mission of charity.
In non-political circles the Church thrives, reminding both its own congregation and those around them that they are constantly called to walk in their Creator's footsteps, guiding and helping those who have lost their way.

History

The Church of the Creator was founded after the resurrection and ascension of the Savior, as his apostles fufilled his mandate to "Go, and make disciples of all nations."
In the earliest days the Church faced immense persecution-not from the Wizards that ruled the land in their own cloistered holds, but from the Abaisi that refused to believe that their promised Savior had come and gone. As the rumormongering grew, so did the hatred of the budding church. Soon even the Wizards took notice and, fearful that this newfound faith would embolden the populace against them, began to take more forceful action.
It wasn't until the conversion of the Wizard [Name] over three hundred years later that the persecution of the Church began to fade. Soon chapels, monasteries and churches dotted the landscape, bringing with them new villages and trade routes. The influence of Wizards faded as people lost their fear and the temptation of Wizard magic lost its power. Concurrent to this was the rise of Mages, people with internal wellsprings of magic free from the corrupted magic of Wizards. Their crusade against Wizard magic further weakened the old strongholds, and soon every one had fallen or vanished from the landscape. New Kingdoms and Countries formed from these old territories, the Church spreading over all.
Sadly, the age of Creationdom did not last forever. In what 'enlightened thinkers' call the Reclaimist era, Learned men with more pride than sense decried the Church claiming that it no longer taught what had been passed down by the early Church and the Dark Monks. While the Church in this time period was in need of reform and a good kick in the pants, It still taught the core tenants of the faith as had been passed down from [Title} to {Title}. what these 'learned men' did instead was essentially rip out the pieces of doctrine they did not agree with, claiming that every man should decide for themselves how the sacred scriptures should be interpreted rather than rely on the 'clearly corrupted and inaccurate' teachings of the [Title].
The Church faced much division in the intervening years, as Smaller dioceses split away to form their own Churches and similar religions. Still, it remains to this day one of the dominant religions in the Mortal Lands.
