Goldheart Courier Service is a business located in
Ghal Pelor's Artisans Row neighborhood. They are a transcontinental delivery service operating out of a massive building in the southern edge of the neighborhood right along the city's wall. Goldheart's handles local postage within Ghal Pelor,
Beldon, Theawood, Homestead, and Ackley Pointe. This is where the majority of their revenue comes from and to manage that volume of business they employ hundreds of carriers, sorters, and service people across a dozen postal offices. While local delivery is their specialty, they do operate a staff of elite couriers who carrier letters/packages across the entirety of the continent and even out to island locations such as
Far Harbor and the
Stormlands. Even places that are generally unkind to visitors such as
Lockland will receive these couriers peacefully.
Goldheart has maintained a stellar reputation since its founding a few years after
The Queen's Rebuke. Prior to the death of magic most messages were sent by spell and packages could be moved via teleportation circles. All of this became impossible within days of the Rebuke, cutting all of the cities off from each other. Goldheart Couriers operated several teleportation circles across the continent prior to the Rebuke, and unlike many magical institutions, surrendering their purpose to the new decay setting in across the land never crossed their minds. They simply traded in their spells for horses, summoning circles for postal boxes.
Goldheart is not without its critics though. Many complain about the steep prices they're able to charge. Goldheart has managed to stamp out most competition in Ghal Pelor and other nearby cities leaving few alternatives to turn to. Their pricing and squashing of competition has left many unable to afford regular use of postal services.
