Dragon’s Lair

Dragon's Lair is the name of a series of planetoids and starbases, owned by Dragon, in the star system of Nergal.
Government: similar to a private closely held corporation. While Dragon owns it, he is rarely seen. Instead, an administrator acts as the leader. The leader handles the succession planning and successors are generally excellent starship engineers/designers with great leadership and business abilities/skills. Although potential successors do attempt to impress the current leader, assassination and sabotage are completely forbidden and attempts are seriously punished. Rather business expertise, engineering, and design skills are evaluated.
Known for: building and selling starships, CPET/APIR installations, and other state-of-the-art technology; developing and testing new types of starships; and training and validation of individuals in various starship professions. The training and starships are somewhat costly, but worth it.
Credentials: Dragon credentials (which are easy to check and hard to forge) are considered some of the best in the galaxy, especially some classifications which indicate the willingness and ability to handle potential death situations with great competence. Credentials can NOT be bought, they must be earned or given by Dragon or his admistrator.
Dragon often gets the best test/engineers/designers by offering them free tuition in return for full rights to their work. If the work is not of the best quality, Dragon will quickly downgrade the offer to the individual — who then has to pay or leave. But because of this policy, Dragon can easily get recruits, even for more dangerous assignments.
Note: Starships refer to intergalactic, interplanetary ships, and inworld aircraft. Only air vehicles, no water vehicles.
