Marrow

Description:

These medimite resemble custacean, but they are landborn. Marrows slither around in their sprawling nests, secreted away in lesser travelled places.   Marrows possess extremely soft flesh resembling bone marrow, hence the name.

Hunting Behavior:

Marrows will await prey in their nests. Nests will coordinate with one-another, spreading across chokepoints where prey will become ensnared before they realize it. Once a sufficient meal falls for the trap.   Once marrows leave their nests to feed, it is a frenzy where they will compete over prey with marrows from other nests as well as their own. This competition continues with no conflict resulting afterward. It is the way it is done, and individuals do not harbor grudges.

Evolution:

Marrows in the natural world also exhibit this behavior, but their blightbeast counterparts present this behavior in another way. Once they attain a sufficient accumulation, the colors of their carapaces will change and they will acquire new traits. Adapted individuals are then expelled from their nests, where they roam to hunt prey.   Marrow: - Blackmarrow - Bluemarrow - Redmarrow - Greymarrow - Greenmarrow - Brownmarrow
