Otherhoppers are a species of interplanar migratory grasshoppers that originated from Otherwhere. They are mostly encountered as companions of other, more intelligent grass hopper scpices, but can occasionally be seen in seemigly random pocket dimentions as well.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Otherhoppers have long bodies covered with a tough exoskeleton. Their hinderlegs, which they use to jump incredible distances, are bent backwards and are under constant stress, simillarly to a crossbowsting. Their color is usually brown, unless they swarm and then their bodies and shift to a bright blue while their singular, usually dark eye, becomes bioluminescent.

Additional Information

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

The unique environments with their fickle laws of nature present in the Otherwhere have allowed the otherhoppers to develop the capability to jump between pocket dimensions and is some cases even breach them into the Astral Plane.

Symbiotic and Parasitic organisms

When enough otherhoppers are gathered in a dense cluster of pocket dimensions they swarm and turn into locust. While in their swarming phase they are able to hop outside the Otherwhere, and most other planes. They are the only species of Grasshoppers that can jump in masses, a quality highly valued by wherehopper, who breed them to enhance their own similar, yet much less potent or predictable, trait.
