An Abridged History

Eons ago, a singular being rose from the earth and dirt of Nonvyrox. A brimming planet full of elemental chaos and dark powerful forces. This being would find a way to tame the elmental natures and seal them in planes locked deep within the core of this realm. From that power, they drew upon the leylines of this realm to create other beings like them. This solitary figure and the newly formed beings, would become The Prime Pantheon.   After sealing the titans who shaped the world before, these deities began to discover the seeds of life and creation, embedding them within the core of the realm itself. Several swaths of fantastical creatures began to roam the earth guided by the hands of these gods. Each creature taking an element of their nature from those gods who they began to worship for their divine powers. Creatures from other planes of existence began to step forward into the realm and expand the populus with unique variations of life. This gave us the Dragons, and the Giants, and the rest of the ancient creatures that still roam Nonvyrox.   It wasn't until later, that the deities learned they could extend this power to create without the need for the material realm. They created palaces and meadows, and places of divine wonder off in their own Outer Planes, made to hold souls. Created from the will of these gods, souls were thinking and feeling, but their lifespan was mere moments. It wasn't until the whole pantheon gathered and created five forms for these souls, that they could live longer and prosper on the world that they had created. These were the first mortals. People.   The Dawning of civilization began to bring these people together and was capstoned by the introduction of mortal magics. While magic took many forms, all forms of magic were derived from a powerful source at the very heart of the world. This allowed for mortals to provoke great feats of wonder and miracles, now achieved not just by the gods of the planes but also by the common person. It was at this time that the first of the modern ancestries emerged, the elves, who were followed shortly by dwarves, humans, and a host of other unique cultures and civilizations. All descended from the ancient people of Nonvyrox in some lineage.   However, the relative calm of the Dawning would not last. For a number of the titans returned to challenge the gods for dominion over this land. It was during this time that a few of the gods broke their devotion to the mortal beings and foresaw a day in which all the gods would be destroyed by their own creations, in doing so siding with the titans. This event, known only now as The Rift, split the pantheon in two, those who cared and those who didn't.   Throughout this conflict, several of the gods imbued their essence into a select few dragons. Known as the Guardian Dragons, these creatures who would protect the mortals from the dangers they might face. However, five of these dragons were corrupted by a dark influence of their god, the last to turn against the mortals. This led to great destruction for many years to come and a division between the descendants of these dragons.   When the titans lost the war, they were sealed deep inside the realm of existence back to the planes in which the first god had sealed them, the Inner Foci, planes of elemental chaos and destruction. All charged by powerful fonts of positive and negative energies. However, the few gods who sided with the titans were also trapped, beyond the mortal planes into a divine realm filled with a punishment dedicated for each of them. However, in doing so dark and evil plans started to develop in the minds of these gods for the moment they could strike out in vengeance.   For the mortals, this became a time of peace, prosperity, and progress, a veritable Age of Creation. Those who were blessed with access to channel magic started to discover different conduits that would allow mortals to channel magic without drawing on the power of the divine. A collective of knowledge seekers known as the Arvadians learned to harness powerful rituals and magic that pulled directly on the source of magic itself to raise mountains into the air and turn them into floating cities that could hold hundreds of thousands of people.   However, the ambition of some mortals led to their downfall. Notably one mortal challenged The Raven for their divine position. While they won, they were not aware of the ancient rites that bound the Dual Idol, this granted them a divine spark but not control over life and death. Her name was cast into these ancient rites, causing her to take up a new name, Exa.   Another tried to copy this path, a wizard known as Enoch Ylvaris. He tried to call upon the powers of the banished gods to challenge them and in doing so allowed them to once again enter the mortal realm. A disaster for all of mortal kind as their long held machinations could finally be unravelled on the mortal realm. In the moment they arrived, two of the major floating cities crashed to the ground.   The release of the gods led to a centuries long conflict known as The Shatter. Deities clashed over the world and left scars that remain to this day. Several calamitous events occured that caused mass destruction and the rest of the floating cities fell to the ground. However, one known as Varys went down using a weapon that trapped and chained one of the gods, Xhakna, sealing them to their divine plane.   At the end of it all, less than one third of the population remained and life was changed. After having to already seal some deities, Shathol performed a ritual which unmade the physical bodies of the deities and trap them within their own divine domains. In doing so, they were left trapped away from the mortal realm, though some would find ways to co-opt other planes of existence into their domains granting them some level of access to the minds on the mortal realm. Shathol was left ragged after the ritual but despite their physical form dissapating, they would act as the guardian and keeper of the Tynau, the gate that they had closed shut.   The Shatter altered the essence of the world and scarred those who surrvived the war. However, from these scars new cities and vast cultures arose to inhabit the spaces that remained across the world. For the past 755 years, the world has been regrowing and finding the moments it can shine, though sometimes it falters. The deities while not physically present, imbue some mortals with divine potential, whilst others still learned to harness the potential within themselves, both magical, natural, and physical. Adventures await in the realm of Nonvyrox, but still enemies and schemes lurk within the mortal realm.
