Amia-Dharo

(a.k.a. The Traitor)

Amia-Dharo has many distinctions:
  • The greatest swordsman in the history of the world
  • The most hunted man in the history of the world
  • Mentor to the Duianna Imperial Family

I once saw him kill two Nhia-Samri assassins with a quill and roster clipboard.
— Lord Dohma, Imperial Regent of Aelargo
Amia-Dharo has been alive so long even he forgets his age. He looks human but he is not.   Born at a time now forgotten by history he was traveling with his parents in Yalthum. While he was playing in a park with a group of kids he now calls his brothers and sisters his parents were killed in a terrible accident along with many others. Everyone who knew he was in the city was also killed and the authorities assumed he had been killed with his parents. It wasn't until late in the day when the young Amia-Dharo tried to find his parents that he discovered he was alone. The building they had been in only a short distance away was a black ruin. Due to the unique work being done by his parents and their friends the governments never explained the sudden explosive fire that consumed the laboratory building saying it had to have been some accidental reaction. The young Amia-Dharo had been told to not tell people who he was when traveling and so instead of seeking help and explaining who he was he ran back to his new friends and began to live on the streets with them.   The orphaned Amia-Dharo grew up on the streets of the great walled city of Jiddala in Yalthum. Amia-Dharo learned to work when needed and steal when needed. It turns out he was very good at both. He was quicker than most, smarter than most, and clever. He learned fast and yet he never lost sight of a core belief in right and wrong. He fought against those who tried to exploit or take advantage of his adopted family and together they managed a reasonable childhood. Of course, some of them were caught and taken off. At the time Amia-Dharo and his adopted family thought they'd been killed or tortured. Most, however, had actually been taken to youth hostels and orphanages where they'd gone to schools.   It was some years later when he was caught taking a few coins from Zaahir al-Faris, a Yalthum army officer. But, Zaahir was intrigued by the fact that Amia-Dharo could have easily taken his entire purse of coins, instead, he had been caught because Amia-Dharo was trying to take only a few coins. When questioned Amia-Dharo said it wasn't right to steal but his family needed the money to live and he never stole if he could find work.   Impressed Zaahir hired Amia-Dharo immediately as his personal si-hamaal. Amia-Dharo having little choice accepted the offer. Still, Amia-Dharo carried more than full adult men and did everything asked including many items not requested but that needed doing. Zaahir kept Amia-Dharo as his servant for three years. During that time Amia-Dharo learned to read and write, how to care for armor and weapons, and how to deal with horses. Zaahir, being childless, petitioned the local authorities to adopt Amia-Dharo and the handful of brothers and sisters left in their street group. The permissions were given and Amia-Dharo with four brothers and three sisters became wards and children of House Faris, a small noble house in Yalthum.   After this Amia-Dharo thrived with his new position and family. He worked three times harder than anyone to impress and show to his new father Zaahir al-Faris how good of a decision he had made.   Zaahir al-Faris's career in the Yalthum military saw him rise to the rank of Janab, or commander of the city's regiments. Amia-Dharo petitioned and was accepted into the Duianna Military as a junior officer. He worked hard and with his superior strength, speed, and skills he rose to become the Captain of the Duianna Imperial Honor Guard charged with protecting the Duianna emperors and their families. It was in this position when he returned to his forgotten homeland of Elraci. There he volunteered to test some of their advanced gifts for the Duianna Empereror. Because he thought he was human, as did everyone else, mistakes were made and he became bonded to a unique set of weapons.   Unaware of the consequences of his bonding to the weapons he returned with them to Gracia to demonstrate their effectiveness for the imperial court and alliance council. The experiment was apparently so successful both groups were in a debate over the approval for the Elraci Senate's request for special funding to create such weapons for the entire Imperial Duianna Honor Guard. That was when Elraci burned.   Amia-Dharo continued to serve as captain of the guard for five more generations of Duianna emperors and empresses. His eternal youth was later attributed to the final experiments of the Elraci scientists in making his special weapons. Still yet everyone, including Amia-Dharo, believed him to be human.   When Prince Aphren Duianna decided the Duianna empire would be better with just an empty chair for the emperor he took Amia-Dharo with himself into hiding. Amia-Dharo did not agree but his oaths insisted he followed where the emperors lead. The two of them tried to discover or explain what happened to Elraci. Instead, Aphren and Amia-Dharo managed to do a lot of good by pretending to be mercenaries and joining the Daggers of the day.   Prince Aphren eventually died leaving a legacy of three kids, and a farming family in Rhini Wood. Amia-Dharo realizes how much he and Aphren were able to do as unknown mercenaries and continues the charade. He checks in on the royal family from time to time always under a new identity and always helping them remember who they are. Amia-Dharo faked his own death and went into his own hiding.   Continuing to discover what happened to Elraci Amia-Dharo eventually meets up and joins Shar-Lumen and the Nhia-Samri Warrior in 14544.   It is not known why Amia-Dharo betrayed Shar-Lumen, but he did. The Nhia-Samri have been hunting him ever since and every year on the same day the Nhia-Samri post a 100 gold crown reward notice in every major city for information which leads them to Amia-Dharo's current location.   Where Amia-Dharo is today remains a mystery to many.
I almost fainted when I saw he had every inch of his Dagger outfit layered with hidden scaled armor, which is why I had several outfits adjusted to be armored, as well.
