It's a shame, a disgrace that this item has gone missing. It's been the pride of my people, and the foundation of this city. It's been an artefact nearly unrivaled in power, and I have to believe that at some point it will find it's way back home.
Kargon Verano - Consul of Kamorda
The Maul of Flowing Rock is an ancient artefact, created by the Dwarves of Roxtoi eons ago. It was gifted to the city of Kamorda during it's founding and was essential in building the city into the mountains. During the early years of the city, the weapon was stolen, and has been lost since.   The maul was not only a formidable weapon but also a tool to reshape rocks and mountains. Over time, many myths and legends were created around it, and by now it's hard to discern fact from fiction. Still, it's undeniable that this artefact is one of the most powerful items in existence.

History

The Maul of Flowing Rock was created during the Dawnera by the dwarves of Roxtoi. It was essential in building their underground cities by reshaping the rock and earth itself. During this time, it was always wielded by the King of the Mountains.   In the early Age of Arcanum conflicts between the dwarves and the Elves of Boradrin in the south became more and more frequent and more and more deadly. Multiple times, both peoples came close to extinction.   To preserve both their peoples, they came together and forged a peace treaty. This treaty established an independent city near the source of the Avoratt. A place for both peoples to come together and find protection and prosperity. This city was called the "Gem of the Skies" - Kamorda.   To seal this treaty, the dwarves gifted the maul to the new city, while the elves gifted the Tome of Infinite Wisdom. The sole presence of these powerful artefacts brought many people to the newly founded city and brought prosperity to its inhabitants.   But not everybody agreed with the peace. There were groups on both side, opposed to it and the new city, tirelessly working against it. So one night, a group the Merola Clan of Kamorda broke into the Likogrum - the hall that stored both artefacts.   The attack should have been successful. The attackers easily overwhelmed the defenders of the Likogrum and entered the central chambers holding the ancient artefacts. It's unknown what happened next, but when the sun rose the next morning, every single living creature within the Likogrum - defenders and attackers alike - was slaughtered, and the Mace and Tome were gone.

Cultural Impact

The Maul and the Tome were essential in establishing peace between the two people. They helped shape the city of Kamorda and brought countless people there and Kamorda has both of them in their crest - even today.   When both items were stolen, this peace nearly broke again. The city was close to a civil war, but the centuries of prosperity and unity before were enough for the people to come together, instead of getting divided. This unity saved the city countless times and makes it the only city to have never fallen.   To this day, Kamorda is searching for the two artefacts, but so far to no avail. By now, many believe that they have been lost forever, but a slimmer of hope remains.

The properties of the maul sound so cool. I love the idea of being able to reshape the mountains.   Sad that it has been stolen. I hope it is found soon. :(
