Gond Character in Lost Waves | World Anvil

Gond

God of Invention

Even before Moradin created the dwarves, he made Gond to inspire the creativity to build things out of the materials given in the world. In time, the god of inventions has gathered quite a following of his own. Tinkerers and makers all over the world pray to him for inspiration and skill.

Divine Domains

Every form of mechanics, invention, and engineering fall under Gond's purview. But he leaves crafting and bigger things to Moradin and the understanding of the principles of the world to Oghma. His followers might draw on those areas, but it is not their focus.

Tenets of Faith

  • Always try to find new solutions, even if you already know a way to solve a problem.
  • There are always materials work with. Experiment with what you have to see if you can construct something to make the situation better.
  • Help those around you find the spark of inspiration and teach them how to use the tools they need to make the idea reality.

Mental characteristics

Intellectual Characteristics

While God is extremely intelligent and able to build constructions that are true wonders, he is also easily distracted and many of his inventions are left half-finished or with strange side-effects. Such items are sometimes lost in remote locations where they might cause unintentional trouble or be found by adventurers.

Social

Contacts & Relations

The bond between Moradin and God remains strong, but the latter has also made alliances with Garl Glittergold and Oghma. The curiosity of the gnomes lends it self better to Gond's perspective than the dedication of the dwarves, and he has blessed them with great understanding of mechanics.   Gond understands the need for both Selûne and Shar, but he has little regard for the entities who just want to cause destruction, such as Gruumsh, or even The Onyx Knight.
