Overview
A young Kojin owned by Okamoto Megumi. Several months ago, trappers kidnapped him from his home in the Sea of Japan.
He's often sullen. But when a customer arrives to pick up a bolt of sea silk that he wove, he brightens considerably. Seeing their amazed expression at his work is the highlight of his existence.

A young Kojin owned by Okamoto Megumi. Several months ago, trappers kidnapped him from his home in the Sea of Japan.
You can see him weave sea silk in the front window of Exotics Emporium. Despite being a slave and having to work at the loom each day, he enjoys the work. He weaves a small white kojin into his fabrics.
Usually kojin add a black merperson icon, but Shiro's name means white. His parents named him after the color of his hair.
Since he hopes to be found and freed, he figures this slight change might help his family have proof he's still alive. They'll know the reference.
Megumi treats him well enough. But her shop hasn't been doing as well as it used to. He's worried he might end up as Megumi's protection payment to the cruel Akumakai. This fear and homesickness often make him cry.
Shiro has been Megumi's saving grace, because of his excellent weaving and the pearls that form from his solidified tears. So far, she hasn't had to sacrifice any of the pets and servant yokai to the Akumakai.
