The most noticeable thing for miles and miles in Maerkhor, Tavertral is a modern metropolis, full of technology and dragons. Tavertral has built a name for itself through trade, trading resources with settlements worldwide and developing faster than any other settlement on the planet.

Location, Geography & Climate

Location

Tavertral sits just north of the Cherry Mountains in Maerkhor, using the rock as part of its architecture. The city is so large it follows along most of the small mountain range, just seeping onto the coastline on the east coast of the continent.

Geography

Tavertral is both the flattest and steepest city in Maerkhor. The north part of Tavertral is built on an ancient fenland, and is so flat it is under sea level, but only by a few feet. The south sector is built on the lower parts of the Cherry Mountains, with buildings perched on platforms as well as carved into the mountainsides.

Climate

The city is accustomed to year-round snow storms and freezing weather, often being a significant death factor. However, with how developed Tavertral is, the city has its own heating system that heats up roads, paths, buildings, not leaving a single location to freeze. It is only in the outskirts of the city where the cold starts to properly hit, as the snowstorms can just about reach you.

Development

Because of the city trading its plentiful resources with other settlements, Tavertral has been able to grow at a much faster rate than other cities on the planet. They were the first to develop complicated technologies, as well as space travel. If you ask anyone on the planet, they will know Tavertral as the "high-tech city". Because of this development, tourists are drawn to the city which brings in even more money, a practically infinite supply of it.

Points of Interest

Melonstack Tower

Possibly the most unusual building in Tavertral, Melonstack Tower is a massive trade centre specialising in fruits and vegetables. Named after the shortened version of melemolens, a delicious fruit, Melonstack Tower resembles many melemolens stacked on top of each other, with green lighting mimicking the striped pattern of the fruit.

Anvil Tower

Another large tower in the city, Anvil Tower was built to handle all of the treaties and other such agreements between locations on the planet. Tavertral always signs their agreements on an anvil sat on the highest floor of the tower, signifying its importance. This anvil is about 400 years old, and was built specifically for the first agreement ever signed by the city.

Bestaurant

The Bestaurant, if you could guess, is the best restaurant in the city. Or so it likes to call itself. The restaurant is located just across the street from Anvil Tower, and is almost impossible to get into. The restaurant serves dishes from across the globe, prepared and cooked by chefs of the highest ability. The only time I ever got in was when Amandin Mea invited me on a date.
