Blademaster Lerin Liadon

A sword twirls deftly through the fingers of an elf man, his armor pristine, shining in the early morning sun. The battle-worn elk beneath him does nothing so much as flinch when the man reaches down with his sword close to the creatures feet to swipe at something delicately, the cut piece flying into the air to be caught by the elf's off-hand. A fighter and battlemaster by trade, this man is a leader, highly decorated and known for his prowess during battle. He has stood in the blood and sun of war next to Elduin Ylyndar, sword flashing next to the lance of the leader of the Knights of Yggdrasil. His name, Lerin Liadon. His title, Blademaster.
Lerin Liadon is a master sword user, calvary officer, and battlemaster of the Knights of Yggdrasil. He serves as the Captain of the Guards, leading those in the Knights that are not paladins. His charges range from barbarians to fighters and rangers. He trains with his men, he drinks with his men. If it is asked of those that he is in charge of, then Lerin must also be able to do it.
His mind for strategy is unmatched by nearly anyone in The Northern Outposts, save for Airdan Ylyndar or his father Elduin. He has helped lead the Knights through various hard-fought battles, often returning his army home unscathed. His Aelinor Elk is ever his trusted stead during these battles, never flinching as Lerin moves through complicated maneuvers and vicious battles.
Most nights, after long hours of training, you can find Lerin and his men seated around the well-worn table in the barracks, piles of coins and pastries in the center, placed as bets for their games. Some nights, its late hours of Three Dragon Ante, cards and cold tossed around like the soil on a battlefield. Other nights is loud yells and hollers as dice are rolled and they play Liar's Dice. Those that know Lerin well know that these are the moments he enjoys the most, the camaraderie with his men, the relaxation that comes from small games of cards or dice.
Even so, he is also known for his cheating, his ability to game new recruits and quickly outwit them. It is all done in harmless fun, no gold is ever kept by him, but the pastries will never be returned. In some ways it is hazing, but its a ritual that Lerin continues, using in to bring his men together in a closely woven group.
