City of Thornwood - Kingdom of Deghwahr

Thornwood

Demographics

Timeline Gala:
The Majority of Thornwood is made up of Dwarves with Gnomes, Tieflings, Halfings, Orks, and Goblins making up the rest of the population.   Timeline Bhen:
Once known to be a major dwarven city, is now almost entirely made up of humans with some dwarves and elves filling out the bottom. Gnomes are nowhere to be seen and Goblins are only allowed in if collared. Occasionally you'll see a Dragonborn or two, but usually don't stick around.

Industry & Trade

Major trading hub due to ideal location along the major trade route connecting the Deghwahr capital, Dragonborn kingdom, Cervaria Empire, and the Tiefling Community along the Cliffs.   Dighgraph exports metals and furs to be traded in Thornwood, supporting the Kingdom of Deghwahr's economy.

History

Timeline Bhen:
Once a Dwarven settlement but handed over in good faith as part of a peace treaty that ended the great Deghwahr invasion.   Timeline Gala:
Second city built in the Kingdom of Deghwahr following the completion of Dighraph, with hopes to start trading with ally kingdoms and support the local economy. After threats of war started circulating around 20ADC, Thornwood put up a defensive stone wall and installed military baracks for quicker response times. Fortunately a war has never reached Thornwoods walls, but with too many unknowns being spread among the united races, the military is continuing active patrols and rigourous training excercises.

Architecture

99% Dwarven style architecture. A single elven house exists that was built by a famous elven architect with permission from the King himself.

Geography

Thornwood sits in a grassy plain and is the intersection of 3 different trading routes coming in from the south, east and west. Water comes in from Digraph caravans due to their sophisticated aquaduct system providing more than enough for the kingdom. The aquaduct system is still being expanded to the other cities but won't be completed for several years at the given rate.
