Session 4: Lights Out Report

General Summary

Opening: Darkness Prevails

As the PC's woke up, Dags opened his eyes to see a familiar tavern but not a familiar theme upon it. He saw a tavern seized by corruption, dripping with black ooze and dread. All of his friends glaring with blackened eyes, chanting in unison, "Just give in". The bartender put his hand upon Dags and then ran a blade along his next while whispering, "Just give in, Dags". As the knife concluded, so did the hellish nightmare that had imprisoned Dags. He shook awake, with sweat and black ooze upon his face, glad to see reality once more.

Mid-Session: The Royal Deghwahr Library

The PC's were contacted by the mysterious messenger "Tilly" and escorted to the Royal Deghwahr Libary, where they met Davin Riker, William's uncle (William though he was the last remaining member of the Riker family, as did Davin). After learning more about recent events, Davin's ties to the King, and how they could translate the ancient textbook, the party loaded up on the charitable gifts offered by the King and Davin.

Closing: The Occultist's Hideout

Once the group had prepared, Davin took the PC's to some old ruins south of Thornwood where a group of occultist took a stolen Enochian relic that can help them understand the ancient textbooks secrets. After narrowly escaping a devious trap set at the entrance of the ruins, the PC's initiated combat with a handful of Kobold's and their Kobold Dragonshield leader. As the last Kobold fell, the group were met with an Acolyte merely standing at the end of the hall, watching patiently. As Dags began pursuing, the session came to a cliff-hanger ending, and the PC's reached level 2!

• Jade stone given to King Deghwahr. King offered to track down the illusive merchant who buys this specific kind of stone
• Davin Riker offered to research demon removal or nullifying magic while PC's were away
• Identified the mysterious coin's symbol as the Dragonflair organization
• Upon inspection of Dag's mark, Davin pointed out that the demon magic embedded on his shoulder mark was powered by the Arcanium stone inside his shoulder.
• Black ooze coming out of dags is from the abyssal swamps found in the chaotic outer planes.
