The Viridian Hollows

The glowing caverns

On the outskirts of Oglana, a settlement of the Ikaspi merfolk off the coast of the Barren, there lies a small, closely-guarded series of viridescenite caverns known as the Viridian Hollows. In Ikaspi culture, this softly glowing green stone is sacred. In the past, viridescenite was mined from the Hollows for the creation of religious artefacts, but this has long since been forbidden. There is still a small stockpile in a secure vault, where it is occasionally still used to create magical focii.   The Hollows are a place of pilgrimage for the Ikaspi, and it is customary to make the trip at least once every few years to bask in the sacred glow.

They sound lovely to visit. I wonder though if anyone has attempted to steal the viridescenite due to its magical properties

The other culture of merfolk that live around the Barren mine and sell a lot of it from their own mines. It's a big source of tension between them.
