Brownbell Cows

It will be a terrible day when we lose these sweethearts. I keep holding on that we find more, but I think after Bubu, Kale, and Gorgeous are gone, that's it. No more milk, no more fur, no one for me to feed in the morning.

Brownbell Cows are a hybrid subspecies created through genetic modification both through breeding and through Orga sciences. Designed as a product by WorldBiotic Inc., these 'Cows' grow a thick coat of fur that needs to be sheared annually. Females produce a very efficient and nutrious milk.

When Kainga first emerged from the ruins of the Arcologies, they managed to pen in a small herd of Brownbell Cows. The Cows essentially allowed Kianga to survive, but that made them a ripe target for Hydrettes. Over the years, raids and attacks on the livestock have claimed enough to make the remaining few genetically unviable.

Without external intervention, the Brownbell Cow will be extinct after the remaining three individuals of the species perish.

Brownbell cows get their names by the thick brown coat of fur that keeps them warm even in the cold and rain.

Milk

Brownbell females produce a very energy-efficent type of milk that is heavy essential vitamins and minerals. They are engineering to produce more milk, for far less feed. The Milk is commonly used for butter, or is combined with spices to be drank in the morning before a long day of work.

Fur

Brownbell Cows grow a long thick brown fur. The fur will continue to grow unchecked without care. Shearing should occur once a year, and produces enough fur to produce reliable clothing and insulation for multiple people. The fur is very dense, capable of insulating to below freezing.
