The Black Hand Organization in Eivrall | World Anvil

The Black Hand

The Black Hand is a radical faction within the Xoxtris Pantheon, devoted to the dark gods and dedicated to the promotion and practice of malevolence. They embody the sinister aspects of the complex world. Unlike those who utilize their abilities for the betterment of society, the Black Hand revels in chaos and destruction.

The Dark Arts

For centuries, it was assumed that magic, regardless of its type, could be used for either good or evil. The concept of 'dark magic' did not exist until the United Federation of Meshev banned what they called the 'dark arts' in response to Crux Dynamico's pressure. However, the truth has always been that practitioners of the 'dark arts' lead dual lives with occupations that run counter to popular belief.

Necromancers, for example, work as morticians and detectives who specialize in murder cases. Their extraordinary ability to communicate with the deceased provides invaluable insights into uncovering hidden truths, bringing closure to grieving families, and delivering justice. They understand the delicate balance between life and death, and they use their abilities to serve the greater good and keep the world in balance.

Hemomancers, skilled blood manipulators, contribute their skills in trauma centers and blood banks. Their understanding of the vital life force flowing within blood makes them indispensable in saving lives, controlling hemorrhages, and facilitating the healing process. They use their abilities to benefit society while navigating the ethical boundaries of their practices.

Chaos practitioners, known for their mastery of unpredictable and volatile magic, find their place within the realm of physics. Their understanding of chaotic energies and the manipulation of probabilities enables them to push the boundaries of scientific exploration, unlocking new discoveries and challenging conventional theories. They dance on the edge of order and chaos, propelling scientific progress forward.

Psychological mages who are skilled at manipulating thoughts and emotions are employed as therapists and counselors. With their extensive knowledge of the mind, they assist individuals in overcoming psychological obstacles, recovering from trauma, and regaining their mental health. They balance their expertise in the dark arts with compassion and a dedication to the betterment of others.

The dark arts embody the intricate interplay between light and shadow, embracing the idea that they are not inherently evil but rather multifaceted practices that can be utilized for a variety of purposes. It represents a faction that explores the gray areas of morality, where individuals use their dark abilities to restore balance, seek justice, heal the wounded, and unravel the mysteries that reside in the shadows.

Extremism

Members of the Black Hand embrace the darkest aspects of their powers, tapping into forbidden and dangerous magics. Their mastery over these malevolent arts allows them to sow discord, inflict suffering, and manipulate the delicate balance between light and shadow for their own nefarious purposes. They seek to tip the scales in favor of darkness, disrupting the equilibrium of the world and spreading chaos wherever they go.

Feared and reviled by those who understand the delicate balance of the dark arts, the Black Hand operates in secrecy, their members hidden behind masks and cloaked in shadow. They manipulate unsuspecting individuals, sow seeds of corruption, and exploit the vulnerabilities of society. Their ultimate goal is to plunge Eivrall into darkness, shattering the fragile harmony that exists between light and shadow.

In a world where morality is ambiguous and gray, the Black Hand stands in stark contrast to those who seek to use their dark arts for the benefit of society. They exemplify the malevolent potential that lies within those who choose the path of darkness and destruction, resembling the shadowy underbelly of the dark arts.

Yeah these guys certainly don't sound like a very pleasant bunch. Not much of a redeeming quality in relishing in chaos and destruction. I wonder if they somehow gain sympathizers within society? I would love some quotes from the people who have to stop 'em or join them.
