Yinaia
When Thierrin came to rest at the end of his long wanderings, his twelve companions settled nearby, and taught the indigenous Cetoilais people fragments of divine knowledge, and, through their divine presence and love, instilled blessings in the land and its people. Yiniel, two-souled creative, taught their people to create. Their madcap ingenuity constantly pushes boundaries. Yinaia is a beautiful land made even more so by its creative populace. Even humble farmers are likely to have self-made pieces of art decorating their homes and fields.
The capital of Yinaia is Demenas, a city nestled between and sprawling over a series of hills through which the Nerendria River flows. Yinaia is divided into four counties: Sol, Lua, Mar and Ceo. Demenas lies within the bounds of Lua.
Due to the importance placed on art, works fetch a high price in Yinaia. Yiniel's clerics dedicate themselves to the creation of art, and the donation of its proceeds to the poor or disadvantaged. Because of this, there is less wealth disparity in Yinaia than many other places. There is, as always, a divide, however; mortals are imperfect and often avaricious.
Yinaiais Society
Artistic expression plays a big part in Yinaiais society. This takes many forms, but many will express themselves through their clothing and accessories. This is not uncommon in other lands, but many rules of fashion that most adhere to are eschewed in Yinaia. Yinaiais Aristocracy
Yinaia's ducal household is House Pincel, claiming a direct line from Yiniel themself. Other significant noble houses include Houses Frensaix, Nendaille, Lefrebeau and Cielfleur. A defining feature of Yinaiais nobility and the rich is their voracious collecting and preservation of artistic works. Most of these works of art are visual in nature, as they are utilised as symbols of socioeconomic status.Demographics
