Trait: Tripping⚙️
Tripping is a weapon keyword that helps a creature use the Shove Action / ◈ to topple another creature prone, using the weapon rather than one's own natural ability.
Trait Mechanic⚙️
When using the Shove Action / ◈ to knock an enemy prone, you may use your Proficiency Bonus + your Attack Modifier rather than your Athletics, as if you were ‘attacking; the creature. You must be trained in the weapon itself to use this part of the keyword.
As an example, instead of rolling an Athletics check, you may roll your Dexterity + your Proficiency Bonus with a Finesse⚙️ weapon to Shove another creature. This occurs with similar effects and keywords (such as Keen⚙️ and Zen⚙️)
Additionally, Shoving and other forced movement from the weapon (such as if the weapon is a casting focus or the weapon of choice for a Maneuver), the creature or object is flung by an additional amount, equal to 5 ft times your Half-Proficiency.
