Barghest

What initially looks like a large, black dog looks far more angular in sharper light. It's eyes glow like fiery lights, and each step rattles like a chain.

  Omen, Goblin-like...Doggie?

Features

Beastial Senses : ~0.5
For Perception checks that rely on Hearing and Smell, the Barghest gains 2 bonus dice (base d6) to the roll.

  Pack Tactics : ~0.5
The Barghest has advantage on attack rolls against a creature if at least one of their allies is within 5 feet of the creature and the ally is able to move and use actions.

  Consume Vitae : ~4.0
Once a creature is truly dead, the Barghast will feast. Once a week, a Barghest will use ◈◈◈ to consume a dead creature's essence, making the corpse unusable for resurrections. The corpse must be of a Humanoid creature of Medium or larger. In doing so, the Barghest gains a Vitae Point permanently.
For each Vitae Point the Barghest has, it increases it's Maximum Health by 10, and gains a +1 permanent bonus to it's skill checks, saves, damage rolls, and TL. Once it has 6 Vitae Points, the Barghest turns into a Greater Barghest.

Actions

Attacks | ◈ per, up to 2 a turn
The Barghest will attack the closest enemy it is able to reach, often choosing the vulnerable and/or the curious Paradoxically, it will not attack those at death's door, friend or foe.
Bite | ◈ | Melee Natural Weapon Attack | +7 to hit | Hit: 16 ( 2d8+5 ) Piercing damage

  Grappling Bite : ~0.5 | ◇ | Targets Reflex
If the Wolf lands it's melee attack against a creature, they must make a Reflex saving throw vs DC 13. On a failure, or if the Wolf critically succeeds, the creature falls Prone. If the the creature is already prone, they become Grappled with the Wolf.

-Tactics-

Barghests are giant canid creatures that were once thought to feast only on goblins, or take the form of other trick-kin. The reality is that they're a creature of ill omen and death, having roots in fey worlds and in the dreams of curious mortals. To this end, they are strangely smart and tend to be pragmatic in their fights. They will flee before falling to their death, or use what limited knowledge it has to negotiate it's further existence. Or freedom
The Barghest will become more aggressive as it consumes Vitae, and becomes a whole other beastie when it gains enough.
