Ankhrav Soldier

The gleaming chitton of this horse sided bug is spikier than what you expected, and even it's softer form is more hardy looking. The noise it makes is less of a chitter and more of a wailing battlecry, and if you didn't know any better you'd assume it was some vehicle built for war.

Giant bugs that make you ask 'Do you apes want to live forever?'

Features

Prone Vulnerability : ~0.0
Despite being a fairly sturdy entity, the Ankhrav automatically flips to it's back while it's prone, revealing it's weak underbelly. While Prone, all physical damage, Melee attacks, or damage dealt within 5 ft deal damage as if it were Vulnerable.

  Closed Combat : ~1.0
If a creature is Grappled with this one, this creature has advantage on attacks made against the creature it is grappling with. As a trade off, this creature can only attack it's grappled target.

  Slag Bites : ~1.0
The Ankhrav Soldier's attacks ignore Armor HP and Damage reduction against targets not Resistant to or Reducting Damage from Acid damage.

Actions

Attacks | ◈ per, up to 2 a turn
The Ankhrav Soldier will attack whatever enemy it deems a threat. As per Close Combat, the Ankhrav worker can only attack it's grappled target. As per Slag Bites, the Ankhrav worker deals unmitigated damage unless the target has defenses against Acid.
Mandible Bite | ◈ | Melee Weapon Attack, +5 reach | +7 to hit | Hit: 9 ( 1d10+5 ) Piercing damage. Creature attacked must pass a Reflex Save vs DC 17 ( or 10 + proficiency + STR). On failure, target gains the Grappled condition. See 'Close Combat'.

Slag Spray : ~1 | ◈◈ | Targets Reflex, can only be done if not grappling.
As long as the Ankhrav is not grappling with a creature, it may fire a line of corrosive slag. The line is 5 ft thick and 30 ft long, and all creatures in that range must make a Reflex saving throw vs DC 15 (or 10 + Proficiency + CON). On failure, creatures take 3d6 Acid damage. On success and critical success, the damage is halved or entirely negated, respectively.

-Tactics-

The Ankhrav Soldier is the front line soldier meant to take out hostiles and/or protect workers. It skirmishes with enemies with reckless abandon, leading to there only be one per pack of Aknhrav's unless a single extra bit of protection is needed. They do not make for companions with non-Ankhravs, or even those not from it's colony or home, and will fight to the death with single minded aggression.
Prey that runs it will often chase for at least 10 minutes / a Swift Rest, and will obliterate them if the fallen perishes on their home turf once the battle has ended.
