Le monde d'Aubekaï est éxclusivement en français, ainsi que mes articles de Summer Camp. Cependant, afin de partager plus facilement mes réactions de lecture, cet article sera dupliqué en Français et Anglais (à hauteur de mes capacités de traduction).

The world of Aubekaï is exclusively in French, as all of my Summer Camp articles. However, in order to share more easily my reading comments, this article will be diplicated in French and English (up to my translation skillset).

Mon Summer Camp 2023

Je suis toujours impatient et heureux d'avoir une occasion de forcer des idées et concepts nouveaux pour mon Monde, d'une manière qui ne serait peut être pas celle qui me viens à l'esprit spontanément. Mais a déjà par le passé été l'étincelle pour ensuite développer de très importants concepts de mon Monde et ses mythes.

Intoktober 2019, et l'invention de toute la partie "souvenirs des Dragons" qui modèlent le monde autour d'eux.

Summer Camp 2020, avec la "Grande Nuit" et plusieurs Mythes & événements majeurs qui s'en découlent.

Summer Camp 2021, qui a donné vie et profondeur au sombre Protectorat Dokesh, ainsi qu'aux baronnies de la Ligue Westienne.

Summer Camp 2022, avec un changement profond dans la perception des Gnomes et de leurs origines.

Et enfin, Summer Camp 2023, qui affine certains de ces concepts, mais également m'a permis de créer deux organisations majeures au service d'une des Divinités qui me tiens à coeur, ainsi que des débuts d'intrigues pour la suite de l'histoire d'Aubekaï.
Plusieurs prompts ont été difficile à trouver, principalement ceux de "Relics", Aubekaï se voulant jeune et avec une histoire courte, ne laissant pas beaucoup de place à des concepts "anciens et abandonnés", mais j'ai pu y placer quelques idées et même des secrets à peine évoqués, en attendant leurs articles principaux un jour prochain.
De manière générale, j'adore Summer Camp pour me pousser dans mes réflexions et dans de nouvelles manières d'aborder la création d'un monde, d'y générer de nouveaux chapitres que je vais adorer étoffer par la suite.

I am always eager and happy to have an opportunity to force new ideas and concepts for my World, in a way that might not come to mind spontaneously. But has already in the past been the spark to develop very important concepts of my World and its myths.

Intoktober 2019, and the invention of all the "memories of the Dragons" part that shape the world around them.

Summer Camp 2020, with the "Long Night" and several Myths & major events that ensue.

Summer Camp 2021, which brought life and depth to the dark Dokesh Protectorate, as well as the Westian League baronies.

Summer Camp 2022, with a profound change in the perception of Gnomes and their origins.

And finally, Summer Camp 2023, which refines some of these concepts, but also allowed me to create two major organizations in the service of one of the Divines that is close to my heart, as well as the beginnings of intrigues for the rest of the lore of Aubekai.
Several prompts were difficult to find, mainly those of "Relics", Aubekaï being young and with a short story, not leaving much room for "old and abandoned" concepts, but I was able to place some ideas and even put some secrets hidden in the middle, waiting for their lead articles sometime soon.
In general, I love Summer Camp to push me in my thoughts and in new ways of approaching the creation of a world, to generate new chapters in it that I will love to flesh out later.

Prompt 1: A children's tale or song based on a real event (Un conte ou une chanson pour enfants basée sur un événement réel)

Une bonne histoire avec une morale intéressante, amusante d opposition avec la vérité des faits. Dans un sens la vérité serait une morale assez opposée sur la confiance et l'entre-aide. Il serait interessant de voir un mythe suivant la version du chevalier et l'aide des dragons.

A good story leading to a morale, fun truth behind the myth and its view by people. I enjoyed the twist and how, in a way, the lesson learned from the tale is almost opposite to the truth itself. It was a good call to listen to that knight in need. Maybe to expand later on a second myth from the side of the knight and his king getting saved by Dragons?

La Citation d'intro est très prennante et je l'ai lu naturellement comme un conte. J'ai aussi apprécié le doute qui réside sur la réalité du mythe, ou que ce ne soit qu'une leçon inventée à la suite d'un enfant perdu.

Intro quote is really well done and I was naturally reading it in my head with the tone of a Tale. I also enjoyed the doubt that remain on the reality of the Myth, or if all made up about a lesson from one lost child.

J'aime l'idée de définit la chason comme le "temps" d'un jeu, comme beaucoup de nos jeu d'enfant. Et la sombre manière de faire un jeu marrant pour enfant, mais qui sert plus ou moins de tutoriel et entrainement pour un danger très réél dans la vie d'adulte à venir. Je ne suis pas certain si je prèfererais d'avoir l'histoire du jeu d enfant en premier, avant la sombre realité, ou pas. LEs deux seraient interessant en lecture.

I like the idea of putting the song as a game "timer", like many of our child play does. And the creepy way of making a "fun" child game, actually a training tutorial of sorts, to what is to come once adult, with real danger! I am not sure if would prefer the game to be explained first, for the surprise of what dark reality it lead to. Or in this order, with a dark explanation and then reading the child play with the back of your head thinking about the first part.

Prompt 2: A letter sent in secret by a well-known person (Une lettre envoyée en secret par une personne réputée)

Nous devons tous les avertir! C'est une planification diabolique d'une sorte d'invasion d'innocents fermiers sans défense! J'ai apprécié la façon dont c'est écrit, me plongeant dans l'état d'esprit de l'auteur de la lettre et ressentant ses machinations et son esprit maléfique, focalisé uniquement sur le profit personnel, ne les considérant pas comme des personnes, mais seulement des pions, de nombreuses lignes avant de lire cela dans le fin.

We need to warn them all! this is diabolical planning on some kind of invasion over poor innocent farmers ! I enjoyed the way it is written, getting drown into the mood of the author of the letter and feeling its mischievous ways and evil mind with only focus self profit, not considering them as people, but only pawns, many lines before reading that in the end :)

J'aime la façon amusante dont il signe, par erreur, avec le diable, et comment cela fini par se confirmer (ou pas ? ) que ce n'est pas une blague, avec un petit commentaire de relance de carrière. Très belle idée pour détournner le secret de la lettre et la personne "réputée". Pour effet, je placerais peut-être la lettre Diable à la fin, pour avoir l'histoire en entier puis la surprise du pacte.

I like the fun way it sign, by mistake, with the devil, and how it end confirming (or not? ) that it isn't a joke, with a small comment of career boost Very nice idea to twitch the secret of the letter and the "well known" person. For effect, I would maybe place the Devil letter at the end, to have the "mistake" in full and then the twist.

Une histoire intrigante, nous poussant à nous demander qui est exactement cette autre personne, et aussi combien de personnes sont entraînées dans ce "jeu" d'amis par lettre, par cette fille de cirque. Cela suscite vraiment le désir d'en savoir plus sur tous les personnages et sur ce qui va suivre.

An intriguing story, pulling us to ask who is that other person exactly, and also how many people are taken into that "game" of friends in letter, by that circus girl. It really spark a desire to learn more about all character, and what come next.

Prompt 3: a form of silent communication (Une forme de communication silencieuse)

Histoire intéressante d'une langue des signes utilisée à l'origine par une minorité pour mimer la pierre de leur culte, et qui va évoluer pour une utilisation plus directement pratique, par des sourds et des militaires indépendament les uns des autres. Des petits détails interessants sur les variation selon les cultures, qui pourraient se développer en une liste intéressante des différences, avec la raison pour laquelle une culture l'a changée par rapport à une autre.

Interesting tale of a sign language that is used originally by a minority for mimic to their stone cult, and to evolve for practical use of totally unrelated deaf and military. Nice little details about variation between cultures for the language, that could expand in a very interesting list, with reason as to why one culture changed it from an other.

Belle histoire et description de la façon dont la langue fonctionne et a évolué avec les cultures et les événements. J'aime aussi la petite note avec quelques exemples pour aider à mieux le visualiser.

Nice history and description of how the language works and evolved with cultures and events. I also like the little note with a few example to help visualize it even better.

Langage secret/espion intéressant. 16 "mots" peuvent sembler peu, mais je serais curieux de les voir développés et de comprendre plus d'exemples d'utilisation de la langue. Bel équilibre entre l'histoire et la description technique.

Interesting secret/spy language. 16 "words" may seem small, but would be curious to see it expanded and understand more example of the language use. Nice balance of story about it and technical description.

La suite de l'année?

De nombreux articles et concepts enfin posés (ou nouvellement inventés) par le Summer Camp. Ils vont mériter un travail au calme, avec du recul. Espèrant pouvoir extraire de grandes histoires à partir de ces petites introductions que le Summer Camp me force (avec joie) d'écrire.
J'ai hâte de voir vers quoi ces idées vont faire évoluer le monde d'Aubekaï, que cela consolide mes idées passées, ou me fasse avancer dans une direction totalement nouvelle, que l'exercice m'aura inspiré à suivre.

Many articles and concepts finally down on paper (or newly created from nothing) by the Summer Camp. they will deserve to be expanded and reworked when calm and with clear head later. Hoping to pull great stories from those little intros that Summer Camp (happily) forces me to write. I can't wait to see where these ideas will move the world of Aubekaï, whether it consolidates my past ideas, or takes me forward in a totally new direction, which the exercise will have inspired me to follow.
