yes
In the heart of a city veiled in mystery, three souls stir from their slumber, each awakening to a morning that defies the ordinary.
Marcus wakes, ensconced in a room where shadows dance to the rhythm of an unseen force, is jolted awake by the grating cacophony of stone grinding against stone. It's a sound that seeps into the bones, unsettling and relentless. As their eyes flutter open, they are greeted by a spectacle of light – vivid rainbow hues that flit through the window, casting a tapestry of colors across the room. But this visual marvel is betrayed by the oppressive heat that envelops them, a sweltering embrace that leaves their skin slick with sweat. It's as if they've been buried under a mountain of covers, the air thick and suffocating, a stark contrast to the ethereal light show.
Meanwhile, Belladonna finds herself in a different corner of this enigmatic city. Her awakening is painted with strokes of nostalgia – the heat that surrounds her is reminiscent of a lazy summer day in her childhood home, where the sun's embrace was a gentle caress. But this warmth is tainted, the air heavy with the scent of a muddy swamp, an olfactory intruder that turns the familiar comfort into something foreign. It's a dissonance that tugs at her senses, a reminder that this place, though reminiscent of home, is anything but.
In yet another secluded part of the city, Bob experiences their own peculiar dawn. The same unsettling symphony of grinding stone, the same kaleidoscopic light, the same oppressive heat – it's a shared experience that weaves a thread of connection between them, despite the physical distance. Each one, in their isolated enclave, is a piece of a larger puzzle, their fates mysteriously intertwined within the confines of this strange urban labyrinth.
The city itself seems to breathe around them, a living entity with its own secrets and stories. As the morning unfolds, the sense of dislocation grows, a feeling that something larger, something inexplicable, is at play in this city of shadows and light.
