Stinnramm Trees Species in Wynsumheord | World Anvil

Stinnramm Trees

Stinnramm trees grow primarily in the Forest Caverns of Taungoun. Their bark is strong, unbreakable without the help of a Diamond-Tipped Axe   There are legends spread about what may happen to curious children who dare to climb the limbs of a Stinnramm, and even adults who attempt to chop one down without a diamond-tipped axe. These stories lead many to believe that the trees themselves are sacred or even cursed, but some know that the Elves are the origin of these myths and think that they are only scare tactics to keep greedy hands off their trees and out of their forests.   Many terrible weapons can be fashioned out of the wood of a Stinnramm tree due to the fact that it is not easily broken by any material other than a diamond-tipped axe.

Additional Information

Geographic Origin and Distribution

These trees are mainly known to grow within the Forest Caverns of Taungoun. It is unknown if they can thrive elsewhere. According to the resident Elves, it is no use to attempt farming them in any other location. Some think the Elves only say this so that they can mitigate exploitation of the precious plant.
Lifespan
These trees live for hundreds of years. It takes at least fifty years for one of its seedlings to grow into a strong tree with impenetrable bark. Before the tree matures, it is just like any other ordinary tree that can be snapped in half with any axe.
Conservation Status
The Dwarven Elves work hard to protect their Stinnramm Trees. If there is a Stinnramm tree, you'll most likely find a Dwarven Elf somewhere near it. If you attempt to climb the tree or otherwise tamper with it, they will have a trick up their sleeve or a task for you to accomplish before they are able to 'deem you worthy' of whatever you were attempting to do. These Elves wish not for people to take their trees or attempt to plant seeds elsewhere because they want the trees to themselves. They know the power of the trees and understand that many will go to great lengths in order to acquire even a piece of its bark. They use this to their advantage and often glean a pretty penny from those who are looking to use the material.
Average Height
Fully matured, these trees can grow to heights of over fifty feet tall.
Average Weight
The trees are very heavy. Even a broken branch of one can weigh about fifty pounds. This is due to the strong material and composition of its trunk.

I like this article, but wondered why this species would be considered monsterous? I also really like the background of your page

Oh thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed the article. The background was created in Flowscape which is a really neat 3d environment generator/sandbox-type tool.   The reason it can be considered monstrous (which I wasn't completely able to go over because I ran out of time) is because 1. Elven Dwarves spread scary legends about it to keep people away from it, and 2. By the bark being nearly indestructible, some dangerous weapons and monstrous devices can be created with it. XD This was a stub article. I've had the species for years but never really expanded on it much, especially in the public eye. The only time I mention it really is when I talk about Syndri's RodStaff because that's how he created it. Anyways, sorry to bore you with a tangent. I've been working on my secret agent story lately but these little reminders about Wynsumheord are making me feel like I want to go back into that again XD God bless and much success with your projects! If you have any other questions, let me know! I love to explore my worlds. <3
