Imperial Vanguard

The Imperial Vanguard is a military order of the Glorious Empire, given ultimate authority to maintain peace within its borders. Originally created by the Empire's founder, Tezzamat the Great, to ensure loyalty over newly-conquered territories, it has since developed into a general-purpose organization for countering high-level threats, similar to the Stellar Compact's, Existential Risks Directorate, whose concept and creation it influenced.

In the Unified Era, the Vanguard has been at the center of several scandals suggesting influence exerted by it outside of Imperial borders, and in violation of international law.
