Many folks saw a strange fog appear moments before the impact of the Rupture.

Moments before the cataclysmic events of The Rupture took place, several folks recall a strange and mysterious fog that enveloped the area they were in.
In the mist they could see strange lights emerging, and see bizarre shapes and forms that seemed larger than life or that depicted unfamiliar places.
Many paintings depict this event, though mixed sources tell different tales of what really happened. Some say there was music, other say you could hear screams, the rest say it was silent.
Scholars theorise that the fog may have been an acclimatizing of different pressures and humidities from beyond the newly opening rifts.
