Not all folk who ask to steal the prey are looking for a permanent hunting ground - many simply wish to experience the beauty of a new vista, or try wrangling game they've never caught before. Some folks are trying out new skills and need a quick place to hunt, and others just want something different and tasty for dinner. In return, the owner often gains a new friend, a shared meal, and will learn new things about their own hunting grounds that will leave them excited to try out newly attained methods of hunting.Proving Worth
The owner may grant access to their territory for another hunter to use but will first issue a test of knowledge and of skill - this ensures that the new hunter can demonstrate their prowess and the owner's mind will be put at ease knowing that their territory won't be damaged or over-hunted. Each test is unique to both the land and its owner, but knowledge tests usually consist of a conversation describing: the area, its landmarks, vantage points, and hazards. Examples of skill based tests involve: producing a map of the area, observed following of a trail, or a demonstration of setting traps to entangle the prey.
