Auric Tattoos

The practice of tattooing is common all across Melior for many cultures. Folk of The Aurus keep up this ancient tradition and adorn themselves with designs that imitate the nature that surrounds them. Popular modern designs feature Ancient Auric Glyphs from uncovered ruins, but elders shun those who wear such sacred glyphs as there are not yet any clear understandings of what they might mean.
The Auric style of tattooing is to use red ink upon pale skin - a reflection of life's great hunt and the blood upon the snow during feast times. Common designs feature concentric patterns radiating from the heart (or pointing to and from it), much like the compass points to the heart of the Aurus itself.
