    The Whispered Twins, XXVIII
    Religious event

After the passing of the Whispered Daughter, XXVII a few months prior, the Nightsingers finally announced the changeover of leadership to the Whispered Twins, XXVIII. The twins, Catalyna and Lorenzo, would henceforth be known to Valissa as the Whispered Daughter, XXVIII and the Whispered Son, XXVIII respectively.   Though already memorable, the day became even more so when Catalyna, as her first act as the Whispered Daughter, foretold the Empress of Valissa about Prince Percival's efforts to take the throne of Yondar from his father.

Birth of Reyna Adonius, Heir to the Valissan Throne
    Life, Birth

It came as no surprise to the people of Valissa when Empress Solaire announced her pregnancy. Weeks prior, she had withdrawn from her duties and left her advisors to attend to the everyday workings of the kingdom. Everyone in Valissa knew that the Empress would only ever give up her position for two things - her death, or an unexpected pregnancy.   Many speculated with their friends and family about the unborn child's father. Was it one of the nobles the Empress frequented, or was it one of the commoners the Empress loved to flaunt? In spite the rumours around the child's father, when the child was finally born there were celebrations held throughout Valissa. The celebrations were kept relatively short, with most areas only hosting parties for a day or two before getting back to work. Even the Empress herself, once the child was born, was swift to return to her duties.

    Excursion into Valissa
    Military action

Early in 1451 AL, rumours started to spread in the northern regions of Yondar. These rumours claimed many a things, but the common occurrence was the tales of a Valissan force camping in the mountains, preparing to strike Yondar. At first King Ronan thought nothing of these rumours, but when he heard them mention a treasured artifact of Van-Hael, he decided to take action.   Ronan took a small strike force of his most trusted Shields - including his captain, Jenna Avarice. Together, the group made the trek through the mountain passes and into Valissa. In the end, the rumours turned out to be false. There was no army. There was no artifact. But Ronan did not want the trip to go to waste. They decided to try and gain the upperhand against their greatest enemies and gather more information about the Valissan army. Even this plan failed, for the locals were either tight lipped and not trusting of strangers, or they truly didn't know what their army had planned.   The trip itself was not a complete waste though. Whilst travelling back through the southern regions of Valissa, they managed to capture the Whispered Daughter and escort her back to Tiraven's dungeons, hoping to gain information from her.

Execution of the Whispered Daughter, XXVIII
    Life, Death

King Ronan, having spent a great many days with his newly born daughter, decided it was finally time to deal with his long time prisoner - the Whispered Daughter. Jenna Avarice tried to disuade him from taking any drastic actions and argued that escorting the Whispered Daughter back to Valissa would be the wisest option, but her efforts failed. She was too tired and stressed from her own recent pregnancy to truly argue with Ronan.   He opted to execute the Whispered Daughter in secret. Though rumours would spread through Valissa that Yondar had taken action against one of their most prominent religious figures, they would be unable to prove anything. He granted the Whispered Daughter her last request - a private conversation with the Captain of the Shields of Yondar, one which would shake Jenna to her very core - before calling for his executioner.

    Coup at Castle Tiraven
    Political event

At the start of the Festival of Summers End in 1467, no one in Tiraven, or even Yondar, expected the first day to end so tragically. The people went about their business, preparing for an evening of festivities, completely unaware of the plot about to unfold.   In the early hours of the morning, Prince Percival began to enact the coup to overthrow his father and claim the throne. He helped Valissan soldiers enter the castle whilst disguised as soldiers from Yondar. Whilst King Ronan and Captain Avarice were busy discussing troubles brewing on Yondar's borders, Percival and the Valissan soldiers took systematically took out Ronan's most loyal men.   By the time Captain Avarice noticed anything was amiss, it was already far too late. She warned her husband to allow him time to escape the castle with their daughter. She then made her way to an unsuspecting Ronan, Queen Elise, and Princess Alexandra. Together, the four of them reached one of the castles hidden tunnels, though Jenna could not pass through the tunnel with them. She knew that someone needed to stay behind and buy the other three time to escape.   When the day was over, any Shield sworn to King Ronan was dead, and Percival had claimed the throne that he had desparately longed for.
