A High Court of the daelin led by Duke Va’líncie.

Until recently, they made their home in Griagorda, the south west province of Valissa, in the central part of the Griaga Forest. Now though, they have marched back to their original homelands of the Siquera Marshlands, on orders of Duke Va’líncie, to try and reclaim the home they have long since lost to time and conflict.

Court History

The history of the Si’Venerra, in particular that related to their previous living arrangements, is a long and complicated one. Of all the daelin Courts, the Si’Venerra have been uprooted sixteen times since their formation. Their original homelands were in the east area of the Siquera Marshlands - long before the land became inhospitable to daelin, beastfolk and human alike - but were forced out by a group of fenarl-kryn.

After that, they moved from region to region within Valissa’s borders and eventually came to settle in the Griaga Forest. They currently share their home with another daelin High Court - the Lavino - who were gracious enough to allow them a temporary homestead.

Wind whistles between the trees, a gentle sway to their form as they submit to a stronger force. The sight is a strong contrast from the Oli’gascian Highlands.

When Va’líncie blinks, he can still see the tall grass burning, their homes being torn asunder by the essence of a single, foolish human arcanist. The image is so deeply seared onto the backs of his eyelids that he fears it will never go away.

The relative calm of the Griaga is a welcome change.

He hopes that, with the aid of the Lavino Court, they can hold out hope for a period of peace. Though he knows their stay cannot be permanent. Perhaps, he thinks, looking over his people as they dart about the trees, we should try returning to our roots. The Siquera would be no more cruel than the people who have already chased us from our home time and time again.

Not wishing to intrude on the Lavino Court for too long, or wanting to owe them a debt larger than they could hope to repay, Duke Va’líncie was quick to seek alternative accommodation. His people helped where they could. Scouting lands and venturing further than they ever had before, into the kingdom of Vorne, but Duke Va’líncie was reluctant to stray from Valissa. It was, after all, their home kingdom. To leave would feel like another blow to their Court.

After a year or so, still living off the good will of the Lavino Court, some scouts caught wind of experiments being performed by a group of scholars from the Moonglow Archivists. They were seeking a way to survive the harsh environment of the Siquera Marshlands.

That gave Duke Va’líncie the makings of a grand idea.

Reclaiming a Lost Homeland

Duke Va’líncie informed his people that he intended to lead them back to their original homelands of the Siquera. Though wary, they knew to trust the Duke as he had led them through times of unfathomable turmoil that could - and more than likely should - have led to their demise.

The Si’Venerra scouts stole the research from the Moonglow Archivists, at which point the Court began the long and arduous task of using their own alchemical knowledge and arcane essence to make a protective ward. They are still in the process of perfecting this, but they have been able to use the querisca blooms to enhance one of their member’s mutation essence, so that they may modify the physical characteristics of others to mimic the ability of the querisca blooms.

This has proven somewhat successful - the last Court member they sent in with the mutation enhancements was able to survive for a full day before being forced to return. The mutation enhancements have also been made to all members of the Court, allowing them to set up camp on the outskirts of the Siquera without being affected by the overflowing rift essence from within the marshlands.

Languages

As many of their fellow Courts that live in the kingdom of Valissa, the Si’Venerra Court are fluent in Calo’ce and Fydanie. They can also speak, read and write Runic.

Naming Conventions

The Si’Venerra Court follows the same naming conventions as most other daelin Courts. That is, each daelin in the Court is given a first name, followed by ‘of the Si’Venerra’. Some are given (or inherit) titles, either by the Duke/Duchess of the Court, or gifted by a member of a Grand Court. At this point, their name would be ‘Title Firstname of the Si’Venerra’ (e.g. Duke Va’líncie of the Si’Venerra).
