Lords of the Animal Kingdom

Legends talk of a people who shepherded the animals of the world. A people who saw the good in all living things and preserved all.
The Verrdrä were generous people, granted the desires of their hearts -- able to shapeshift into the forms of dragons, large and powerful.
Other legends speak of the great serpents of the world, always watchful over the lesser beings of the animal kingdom.
Wise and patient, the gods gave the Verrdrä the ability to walk the world as mortals, to enjoy the emotions of mankind.
