Stay in the hallway and fight #101

Both men rush up the stairs…just like you hoped they would.
The narrow confines of the hallway give you an advantage—something you learned growing up in the orphanage. You shift to one wall, attacking the man with the blunt object.
He smiles…until you knee him in the groin.
Using him as a human shield, you shove him forward before the second thug can thrust his knife at you. The bigger man mows his buddy over…and they both fall down the stairs, tumbling in a ball.
There’s a yell, a grunt, and the small attacker gets up, still holding the knife…but there’s blood all over his hands and chest.
You quickly follow down the stairs, screaming and pointing.
“Thief! Murderer! He mugged that poor man on the stairs!!”
The small man looks around, then down at the weapon in his hand. Egerton and the patrons in the tavern turn and stare.
He runs.
