Brightley
A Small and Happy Place
Brightley, the home of Ina Lightning, is a homely village nestled in a valley near the Western Mountains at the north-western tip of Ferrat.
Brightley is home to many traditions and festivals. Every year, on the first day of Spring, is the Spring marriage: an event when the loveliest maiden is crowned Spring Princess, and adorned with a wreath of the season's first blooms.
A Mysterious Lord
But most intriguing of all in this very plain little town is the Lord of Brightley. A fine old manor sits atop a knoll overlooking the village square, its gates perpetually flanked by a pair of armed guards. The housekeeper is well known among the people as a frequent customer of their produce and goods and is often seen scurrying in and out of the estate. Important-seeming, well-dressed visitors are occasionally escorted in, and then back out several hours later. But no-one among the populace has ever laid eyes on the lord himself. However, considering how Brightley remains unmolested and untroubled by the rest of Juraedon, the villagers reckon that the lord must exist and is doing a rather good job of lording, and probably his name begins with the letter G. Or perhaps it was H. In any case, the residents have better things to worry about than an invisible lord, and the manor is left well alone.
