The Float

There's something peculiar to this web of trees and rubble and shipwrecks tied together... The rot doesn't feel right. I fear there's something hiding within. Then the next question is, what could possibly have made this place a home?
— Dame Stonemaker of the Wooden Shields

In the middle of the basin lake, surrounding the small islands located there, floats a gathering of trees and shipwrecks that have gotten entangled with each other. Old records already mentioned the event, yet it seems over the years the place has greatly expanded. Nowadays it easily stretches a mile.

During the big flood of the valley, part of the rubble got stuck on the islands in the center. This has now stretched far and wide, gathering most rubble that would have otherwise floated towards the Basin Fort. There are hints that something living is involved.

Areas/Buildings

Lake Islands
A handful of small islands in the lake had plantlife on them. With the flood, trees got entangled with the island shores and trees still standing tall on top of them. As this pile of rubble grew bigger, eventually all islands ended up connected in one large pseudo-dam.
Former Flagship
Many ships were washed away when the flood happened, including the ship belonging to the valley's former rulers. As a lot of documents were taken by those that left the valley, this is the most likely place to still contain old documents. As such, we should try to reach the ship.

This reminds me of the Great Pacific Garbage Pile, but more organic. And more mysterious. I love the insinuations that something lives there....

No problem! I actually kind of enjoy stepping briefly into other people's worlds and seeing the way they build in conflict. It breathes life into the worlds, and it makes me a better worldbuilder. <3
