Astral Projection

A soul usually inhabits a body, a Vessel, or is defined as Avatar to have presence. A soul that has a body can still be projected outside of it while retaining the connection.   The most common way to create an astral projection is through the Dreams Branch or adjacent arcana if the tradition is shaped that way. The projected soul might be sent to another location on the same plane, or to a different one. In the latter case, the most common one is the Astral Plane, which is why the two are linked in name.

Effects

An astral projection can't interact with physical things at all. Intersecting the projection with dense physical objects more than momentarily, risks harm to the projection as it struggles to maintain integrety.   The projection is anchored to the relative position of the location they are projected to. Later jumping onto a train will still have the train driving away from the projection, for instance, inless they can re-anchor. The same feature is why the planet doesn't disappear from underneath them.   Due to the inability to interact with anything physical, using many abilities and rituals comes very difficult. The projection is still the soul, however, and any abilities that can act on the person can do so via the projection.
