Archangel of Love
While Anael came into being long before there was any life in the Foundation, they only rose to prominence as the first primates started to form relationships. They were tasked with bringing the mortals together and finding pleasure and procreation. They were given the Symphonic Movement of Love and the power to create desire and joy.
However else they may appear, Anael is always beautiful and radiant. Those who bathe in their light feel loved and cared for, trusting the Archangel to have nothing but their best in mind. The actual visage taken is usually intended to fit the ideals of as many as possible of those attending.
Love
The Symphonic Movement of Love represents the will for an individual to become one with another. It includes every aspect of human (and possibly other) sexuality as well as romantic feelings. As a secondary part, it can refer to other forms of loving relationships, such as friendships or family ties. However, any such ties would have to be very strong in order to matter much to the Archangel, though some of their Servitors lean more in that direction. What Love doesn't do is judge. Its intention is to bring those together who will care for each other and want to bring about a better world through their union. How that union happens and through what means is irrelevant. If anything, Anael will punish anyone who gets in the way of a good union on the basis of social mores or qualms.Mental characteristics
Personal history
Anael has guided couples and other constellations throughout human history. They watch over every part of human sexuality, from the menstrual cycle to fetishes. Their goal has been to guide society in a direction deemed favourable, with little regard being given to individuals' wishes. It is only in the past two thousand years, or so that love has become a high priority in its modern sense.
The Archangel has worked closely with many of the other leaders of The Host and more often aided them than focused on their agenda. This has created many allies, and the angels of Love can usually count on others to back them up.

Anael is known to present themselves as any gender and will equally accept any pronouns ascribed to them.

Anael is the only Archangel known to regularly take lovers.
Accomplishments & Achievements
The significant lineages maintained by the Host to guide mortals have all been looked after by Anael. Making sure that a person ten generations in has precisely the right heritage for a position requires a lot of delicate work. The Archangel hasn't always managed to make these things happen in a way that they would have preferred, but they have made it happen.
Failures & Embarrassments
Anael made the mistake of assuming that what was intended to be the perfect human man and the perfect human woman would be attracted to each other. Instead, Adam and Lilith immediately disliked each other and the latter left Eden as soon as she figured out how. The Archangel didn't let this mistake happen twice and made sure that Eve would care for her mate. Arguably, this went a bit too well.
Intellectual Characteristics
While they might be accused of forgetting about individuals, Anael will always see relationships as they form. They understand desires and urges to be one with someone else, making such connections instantly. As the Archangel of Love, Anael knows the romantic and sexual urges of every creature in The Symphony at any given time.

Contacts & Relations
Anael is the unofficial leader of the Pax Divina movement. This has placed them in opposition with the more aggressive Archangels but also gained them some allies of a similar mindset. On the other side, Asmodeus represents everything wrong with the practices connected to the ideals Anael promotes.
Mannerisms
With those they feel close to, Anael isn't above showing affection. But they are also likely to rip away any feeling of love and comfort from someone they're displeased with. They will happily encourage any closeness between others and might see hostility as a personal insult.
