Nihidreen

Ervenian Era, 1051 AB

Nihidreens are grotesque beings, twisted by the Dark Lord of Gontal into horrid forms to serve in the Schattenarmee. The first nihidreens were former members of the House of Nihilus, but many more were made since the house's fall. While there are some similarities between nihidreen, no two are truly the same; these differences are major, with different nihidreen having completely different abilities and capabilities.

Biological Traits

Nihidreen are roughly grouped into three categories:

Common Nihidreen

The rank and file of the schattenarmee, they are ferocious, sadistic, and surprisingly disciplined. Common nihidreen are roughly the height and weight of regular humans, but are nothing alike otherwise. Their clawed hands, sharp fangs, and chitinous carapaces are all noticable from afar, while their faces are warped, if they have any.

Greater Nihidreen

Greater nihidreen are augmented, either physically (somatic nihidreen) or mentally (verbal nihidreen), and serve as commanders or bruisers. They possess magical capabilities that complement their augmentation, and are usually larger than the common variety, standing at nearly 10 feet tall.

Nihidreen Overlords

Only 12 overlords were ever created, and all are of the first generation. Overlords are exceptionally powerful, and each one of them was created with a specific mission in the Dark Lord’s mind; however, these missions are not public knowledge, and save for the five of them who command a schrebe, the whereabouts and doings of the overlords are unknown.
